After their return through a wormhole from a terrifying adventure more than a hundred years in the past, Sam and Helena's father destroyed the dangerous computer game which enabled them to time travel. But one night Sam hears a blood curdling scream. He recognized the voice. It is Ruth - a girl who lived on the banks of the Zambezi River. Someone has reactivated "The Dangerous Game" and called up a time when Ruth is in serious trouble.

Sam locates the CD holding the game and prepares to travel back in time with an adventurous friend and all the tools they will need to survive in the African bush. However, "The Dangerous Game" is tricky to control and Sam finds himself back in the past with the wrong friend and minus vital equipment for their survival.

Tracking down Ruth will test Sam to the limit and he will need all his courage and wits to find her.
